Laying claims

Dylan spent the night again last night. I find myself growing attached to him more and more as the days go by. Right now, our relationship is just one of friends with benefits. We have a lot of fun together, in and out of the bedroom. We get along really well, have many common interests, and seem to be incredibly sexually compatible. I was texting with him this morning and we were talking about something that is going on and he made the comment that no one else can claim me. I asked him if he was laying a claim on me. His response was basically what would happen if I did? My response was that I am not sure just yet. Have not heard back from him since. He is either asleep or does not know how to respond yet.

Pet names

Everyone has them, right?I have not had one in a long time but just recently acquired a new one: Koala. The guy who gave it to me is a really sweet guy that I have been seeing for a short while now. It is interesting to have that again. I am supposed to be the chick who does not get emotionally involved. I find myself being drawn to this guy in a way that I have not been drawn to anyone in a while. He is kind and when he spends the night, it is refreshing to wake up and feel his arms around me. I asked him what he was getting out of all of this and why he continues to come by when I have told him that I am not looking for anything serious. His answer: He is happy with the way things are between us right now. It is nice having a guy who is not pushing for anything serious as some of the other guys that I have been out with have been. Right now, I just have too much other stuff going on to even consider getting serious with anyone right now. Most guys are not very understanding of the whole poly thing either. Anyone who wants to get serious with me has got to understand that first!

Fuck you too, buddy

OK - Picture this: It is Friday night and you are me. Young, vibrant, and totally hot. You already have a date. Now, imagine that you are a guy that I hooked up with a couple of months ago. Why would you message me asking if you can see me tonight? Did you honestly expect me to drop what I am doing and invite you over? Seriously, did you honestly not expect me to have plans already? This douchebag messages me and when I tell him I have plans gets pissy and tells me to fuck off. My response? Fuck you too buddy.

Goth boy

Went out last week with a goth boy from another website. Very quiet and soft spoken, not typically the type of guy that I am drawn to. I had a pretty decent time with him and the awkward hug and kiss that he planted on me was interesting. I am considering seeing him again since he was a sweet guy but I am unsure right now. Hmm.....decisions.

Movie time!

Well, this has been a slow week for me since one of my best friends is in town visiting. It has somewhat put a damper on my sex life for the time being. I did, however, go to see Star Trek yesterday with a guy that I have been seeing for a while. Great movie plus good company always equals a good time. It has been a while since I have been on an actual date, with dinner and a movie so it was a nice change of pace. The odd thing is that the last time that I went to dinner and a movie was with my best friend/brother.

Yay for Mondays!

Got to see my ball player again. Man, I will be glad when my lip piercing heals. I am wondering what the spikes will feel like once I get them in. ^_^

Friday night

Went out with Brian on Friday. I got my lip pierced on the way home to get ready for the date. Looks awesome, BTW ^_^ We went to Starbucks for coffee and chilled there for a while. Totally geeked out for a bit and talked about all kinds of things: computers, games, and Linux, LOL. After that we went to Olive Garden and I tried some new soup. Very good. I am thinking that I might go out with this guy again but I am not sure yet.

Tonight

Well, I have a date tonight with a fellow geek like me. We are headed to Starbucks for coffee and then onto Dave and Buster's. Wish me luck. I hope that this date goes better than some of the others that I have had =)

Monday

Well, these days there has not been much time for dating as I am in the middle of getting ready to move on Sunday. I did, however, make time on Monday for a cute emo boy. We have been talking for quite some time now and finally got the chance to meet up. It is nice to meet some boys/men who are not afraid of a girl with a little meat on her bones. He cam over and we chilled for a little over an hour before he had to get back to work. I had a good time with him and really felt comfortable around him, no pressure at all. It was nice since it always seems that when you are on a first date, which I have been on several lately, it is always nerve-racking. Anywhoo, hope to see him again once I get moved into the new place. I really did like him and he was extremely easy on the eyes!

Ball Player

So, I start talking to this guy. Very cute and we have a good time. I was beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake playing around with him because I had not heard from him in a while. Well, lo and behold, I got an email from him the other day saying that he had been out of town for the last couple of weeks and just got back into town. Not surprising since he is a sports player. I am really excited because we are getting together on Monday. I am enjoying playing with him. It is nice to have someone to come over, have a good fuck and then leave. To be honest, I am not looking for anything serious right now, just getting out there, meeting new people, and having a good time. Looking forward to exploring some fantasies with him on Monday so wish me luck!

Any SINGLE, sane, non-suicidal guys out there?

Ok, met a guy, went out Sunday night. Great guy, I am thinking that he definitely has some potential. Had a blast on our date, ate Chinese food at this divey, altho clean, place. Went to the park, hung out by the lake, great conversation. He even went so far as to push me on the swings! Back to my place, hung out for a little while longer, watched some Happy Tree Friends, and then he went home. As I work an overnight shift, I went to bed a few hours after he left. When I wake up, I noticed that I had quite a few text messages as well as a couple of voicemails from him. Mind you, I had already warned him the night before that if he were to get to clingy, he would scare me off. Turns out, he lost his job that morning and then tried to commit suicide! He was in the ER in the evening when I woke up and finally responded to his messages. As if I did not already have enough going on in my life, this is something that I truly did not want to add to it. Talked to him briefly today and wished him luck in his search because I am defintely not it!

Sunday's date

I went out with a really nice guy on Sunday. We went to eat and then to the park. Standing there and looking out onto the lake was really cool considering it was late night before the park closed. However, I let this guy know that right now I really do not have the energy to devote to anything more serious than just casual dating and he has been calling me non-stop. Seriously, while some ladies may find it charming, I find it irritating. Calling me and texting me all hours of the day is rather annoying as I have a schedule that is not what most people have since I work overnights, Yes, I usually wake up around 5pm but there are those days that I like to sleep in, especially when I have something that is going on in the morning and I do not get to sleep when I should. Do not text me when I first wake up, as I am a grouchy bitch. Not something I am proud of, just a fact of life.

Pact with my Sister

Ok - so my sister and I are signed up on the same dating site. We made a pact that no guy would ever come between us, so if one of us has already met a guy and then that same guy messages the other one, he is off limits. Well, I found out today that one of the guys that I have been talking to for a couple of days has actually already met my sister! And been to my house! Once I found this out and mentioned it to him, things got interesting. He kept going on about how they did not do anything (this I already knew, I mean, C'mon! we're sisters!) and really wanted to meet me. Explaining to him that it would not be happening was a chore. Sorry guys, my sister is family and nothing is coming in between that!

Cute, geeky boy =)

So, I had a second date with a cute, geeky boy. He came over to my place and we hung out for a while and enjoyed each others' company. Once my sister left for work though, all bets were off. Like I said, this was our second meeting and I was not disappointed. I totally could not keep my hands off of him and he was willing to please. I did get to keep my lighter this time, which, even though I am trying to quit smoking, was a plus. He's very attentive and when I thought that I had done some real damage to my puppy, he was helpful in making sure that he was okay. Definite brownie points on that one! I am totally looking forward to seeing him again and having a smoking good time =)

More Beans!

Sunday, I went out with an Xray technician. He picked me up and we went out to eat. I took him to one of my favorite Mexican places. We had a good time, laughing about the food (there were a lot of beans on our plates), talking about what brought us out here to Arizona, and old school video games. He then decided to take me for a drive around his old neighborhood. After that, we went back to his place, where he has an amazing view of the city! We hung out at his place, watched a couple of movies, and I ended up spending the night. The next afternoon, after we woke up, he took me across the street to another Mexican place, which was really good. After that, he took me home. I am supposed to see him again on Monday when we go hiking on Camelback Mountain. Defintely looking forward to it.

In the park

Now that I have talked about the horrible dates that I have been on so far, time for a change of pace. I decide to accept a picnic date from R1*. We decide to go to a park not far from my house. He picks me up and we head out. We get to the park and have a nice lunch and some really good conversation. One of my favorite things to do at a park is to check out the swings. Now, I must inform you that I am in a dress and heels. Heels + playground sand do not equal an easy walk. He held my hand to help me walk across the sand to the swings. We then went back to my place and watched the first volume of Chobits (an anime series, for those who are unaware.) It was an awesome date and I went to work with a smile on my face. So far, I have had a second date with R1 and am looking forward to more in the future!

Note to Self: No more drunken frat boys!

Ok - so this morning, I get invited to breakfast. I figure, I am not doing anything this morning so why not? Here's why not: I get there only to discover that he has been up all night drinking. Not usually a big deal as I have been known to knock back a few myself, except that while I am there he proceeds to get totally hammered.
Problem #1: We're having some fun and talking and he confuses me with someone else. OK - we just met and you already don't know where we met or who I am? WOW.
Problem #2: He tells me that he is a functioning alcoholic. First of all, you can't remember how we met (just a couple of hours ago) and are so drunk that you can barely stand. How in the hell is this functioning??
Problem #3: He tells me about all these other girls that he knows. Great, I am glad that you know other girls, but honestly, telling me about the one chick that you are kinda, sorta dating, does nothing for your standing in my eyes.
Problem #4: He keeps passing out. I try to leave a couple of times while he is passed out, except he keeps waking up and begs me to stay. Telling him that I have other things to do has no affect as he (apparently) thinks that my day is supposed to revolve around him.
Finally, he passes out for good. At this point, I am able to get up, dressed, and out the door before he wakes up. As I am driving out of the apartment complex, I cannot help but think:
Note to self: no more drunken frat boys!

Bad Date #1

I decided to accept an offer for a date from a nice guy named J1*. I was, at the time, trying to set my little sister up with a friend of mine from work as well, so the four of us decided to make it a double date, so as to take some of the pressure off of all of us. Well, it started out ok, until my sister’s date ended up not showing up. For some reason, J1 decided that he was much more interested in my little sister than he was in me, which, I think ended up for the best. It turned out that he was a Philosophy major. Now, I have nothing against philosophy in general and find it a fascinating subject, I just wonder what kind of career, aside from a professor, you could make out of that. Suggestions?

*Names have been changed in order to allow for the fact that someone else may find this person fascinating

Online Dating - The Perks and Pitfalls

Ok - so I have decided that after being single for right around 6 months or so, I am ready to jump back into the dating scene. However, I have never been a clubber or the type to meet guys in a bar (when I do go to the random bar, it is with a group of friends and not to meet new people) I decided to sign up for an online dating site. I do not get out much as I work an overnight shift and am usually asleep when most people are at work or doing the after work social thing. So far, I have met some really nice guys and some real, shall we say, interesting(?) ones. I am pretty new to the online dating world and plan on letting you guys in on how things turn out.
Hi and welcome to Late Night Wanderings of the Mind. I am just getting started here and hope that one day, someone will find something useful, comical, or just plain enjoy something on the site enough to come back.
